Kaoru doesn't get V/V. And yet, as the closest person to what she is in Prospero, V/V is the one person she does get the most. They're almost the same, except that Kaoru is thirteen and, you know, evil; they even look like colour-swaps, complete with the same creepy eyes. But V/V values humanity greatly, whereas Kaoru doesn't quite understand it just yet. She's starting to make her feel like maybe not everything is pointless.
vriska serket
MAGICIAN RANK: 3
Well, she's one of the few characters who actually got past Rank 1 with the ever-antisocial Kaoru. That counts for something. If Kaoru were to examine it more, the rank would probably go higher; Vriska is on some level important to Kaoru, even if she doesn't understand it one bit. Kaoru gets confused by Vriska's displays of affection and why she likes going out with her to steal stuff and ditch class, but Vriska is a good friend, even without the established concept in her head.
john egbert
FOOL RANK: 2
We can blame John for Kaoru's habit of typing like this. They talk a lot and they agree on some things, like how the adults in town are all silly for not wanting people their age to fight, and well, he did eventually get her to go to the movies already when she said she hadn't. The Lovers Event brought up more questions than it answered, and she now associates him with Weird Feelings That Make No Sense, but she isn't upset about that. She's just... Kaoru. She has no real idea why he gets so awkward around her, either.
garviel
EMPEROR RANK: 1
Kaoru and Garviel have a lot of weird conversations about things they don't really understand. They seem to realize that they're both in some way artificial, and that normal people understand the things they don't just fine. Not that Kaoru really cares. Does she?
saber (nero claudius caesar augustus germanicus)
STAR RANK: 1
Kaoru's only spoken to Nero briefly, but she rates inclusion for making her feel... very confused. What do you mean, life has value? Kaoru's thinking about this more than she'll admit to, and she might ask what she means later.
naoya
TOWER RANK: 1
Amidst all the people seething and calling for Naoya's blood for what he did to V/V, Kaoru... doesn't care. She doesn't like him, but she doesn't hate him; she's just okay with him. How many worlds has she destroyed or participated in the destruction of, after all? But during the Reversed half of the Lovers event, V/V's murder by a then-unknown assailant triggered Kaoru to go paranoid due to their similarities, and while the Shadow isn't influencing her anymore, she does wonder...
archer (robin hood)
CHARIOT RANK: REVERSE
Annoying. His constant remarks about Kaoru's age get irritating, and the fact that he won't tell her anything adds to it.(Nobody will explain the milk comments.) Still, from a girl who thinks everything is pointless, that probably doesn't mean much.
