Some people said that the monsters here are ghosts. Some people didn't. What are they? They're all wearing chains, and they're strong.

Ryuuki said that a ghost is dead and hasn't moved on. What kind of person becomes a ghost? Or are all dead people ghosts?

Is a ghost a good thing, or a bad thing?

...I don't really care either way. I'm just asking.

Anybody ever think there could be more than one kind of "monster?" Or whatever the hell they are.

Well there ya go.

And it doesn't matter if they're ghosts or chains or anything, I don't plan on meeting any of 'em.

I know it doesn't matter. I asked anyway.

If you don't care about it, why'd you bother even asking?

I'm not. I'm trying to figure out why you did do what you did.

But I really don't care, so I'll stop.

Ryuuki's right, in the same way that someone who says steam is hot is right. There's more to it, and hearing that steam is hot doesn't compare to getting burned by it.

If these aren't ghosts, they're definitely not normal. But since Antrim is haunted and we're here in the middle of gods-fucked Long Night, it's a pretty damn good guess.

So you know about ghosts, then.

I'd say that's a fair statement, yes.

Then what kind of person becomes a ghost?

They usually have some unfinished business that keeps them from just giving up and dying already. Or they can't let go and move on for some other reason.

That's the simple version. There's different reasons for different kinds.

Even a person who's dead can live, if they need to live?

They're not alive - they never will be again - but they're not dead. They're stuck because they think they've got something left to do, yes.

So that means somebody who was killed is probably a ghost, right?

I... don't think they were ghosts. I guess ghosts would look the same to everyone; but the monsters out there looked different to everyone who saw them.

Maybe ghosts aren't a good or a bad thing. Maybe they just... are.

[personal experience? him? NAAAAAAH.]

[identity profile] windsofdaytime.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
You saw them? If they didn't have chains, what did they look like?

[identity profile] flailingbento.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well-- for me, they had one eye, and they were bleeding. But the people I was with saw... other things.

I guess yours had chains on them.

[identity profile] windsofdaytime.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
A monster like that doesn't sound all that strong...

I thought this town was a place for ghosts.

[identity profile] flailingbento.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm not much of a fighter-- I'd really rather there were no monsters.

I don't know. I guess the stories weren't all true. Monsters and ghosts are the same to some people.

[identity profile] windsofdaytime.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hm.

People are strange, either way. The way they think makes no sense.

[identity profile] flailingbento.livejournal.com 2010-12-25 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
I think people just try their best to understand what they can't see.
